Director Global Public Affairs Healthcare

About the role

FGS Global, a stakeholder strategy firm with offices worldwide and a Brussels office acting as its EU hub, is looking for a Director to join its Global Public Affairs Healthcare team. The role sits at the intersection of healthcare policy and business strategy, covering EU institutions, national markets across Europe and global mandates, and works alongside a Brussels-based healthcare team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead client relationships across European markets, drive cross-sell opportunities and manage global mandates
• Serve as the go-to expert on healthcare policy across EU institutions and key European markets, anticipating regulatory and policy shifts
• Develop and refresh practical, forward-looking insights for existing clients and new business opportunities
• Guide and develop the Brussels healthcare team, mentoring and staying hands-on
• Contribute to the European Healthcare Sector Group, including credentials, thought leadership, event strategy and knowledge sharing
• Build relationships with senior policy, political and regulatory stakeholders across EU institutions, member states and international bodies
• Work with Partners to build a pipeline of new clients and projects, driving pitch preparation and delivery

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree plus an MPA, MBA or similar policy or business-related Master's degree
• 7+ years of experience in government, parliament, international organisations, regulators, trade associations, political parties, policy-focused public affairs agencies, management consultancies or strategic advisory firms; direct policy experience in Pharma, MedTech, BioTech or Digital Health is welcome
• Deep knowledge of EU policy-making and significant experience advising on European healthcare policy, politics and regulation
• Ability to engage directly with senior policymakers and regulators, often independently
• Experience managing and developing junior colleagues

• Confidence presenting to and advising senior clients
• Project and team management skills
• Comfortable working across multiple European markets, including the U.K. and Switzerland
