DevOps Engineer – AWS & Python

About the role

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join a public‑sector platform engineering team. The role focuses on building and operating a central AWS cloud hosting platform using a hub‑and‑spoke model to support critical digital services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain a central AWS platform based on a hub‑and‑spoke architecture.
• Expand and optimise Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to improve scalability and reliability.
• Automate application deployments within secure landing zones using CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement and manage network components such as DNS, firewalls and logging.
• Ensure system reliability through automated monitoring, failure planning and disaster recovery.
• Configure cloud service flows and integrate infrastructure components.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience automating CI/CD processes with GitHub or Azure DevOps Pipelines.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code.
• 3+ years of software development experience in Python.
• 3+ years of experience with AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Proven experience designing and maintaining central hosting platforms in a hub‑and‑spoke architecture.
• Technical Master’s or Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent professional experience.
• Fluent in Dutch (C2 level).
