Deputy AML Compliance Officer

About the role

As Deputy AML Compliance Officer you will join ERGO's Compliance team in Brussels, acting as the formally designated deputy to the AML Compliance Officer. You will support the second line of defence, helping to maintain an effective AML/CFT framework while gaining exposure to a broad range of compliance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Support and advise the AMLCO, reviewing escalated AML investigations.
• Provide second‑line guidance on AML matters and conduct monitoring and control reviews.
• Contribute to periodic and ad‑hoc AML risk assessments.
• Prepare regulatory reporting for the National Bank of Belgium and internal reporting to senior management.
• Analyse suspicious transactions, file STR/SAR reports to the FIU and act as AMLCO backup.
• Support internal and external audits, contribute to remediation actions and process improvements.
• Assist in developing AML policies, procedures and training sessions.
• Collaborate on related compliance topics such as fraud, FATCA/CRS, distribution and data protection.

Required profile

• Approximately 3 years of AML/CFT experience within a Belgian financial institution.
• Strong understanding of Belgian AML regulatory requirements.
• Analytical, problem‑solving, autonomous and detail‑oriented.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
