Data Scientist – AI & Automation

About the role

As a Data Scientist within the Center of Expertise “Data Management” at Degroof Petercam in Brussels, you will join the CDO Office to drive AI‑powered automation across the bank. You will work closely with business units to translate their data challenges into intelligent, scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver AI and smart‑automation use cases that automate data‑intensive tasks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements, prototype solutions, and iterate based on feedback.
• Create and maintain documentation, dashboards, and technical workshops to inform and train users.
• Develop scripts for process automation, and manage deployment, decommissioning, and monitoring of applications.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with strong statistical knowledge.
• Excellent written communication in English and fluency in French or Dutch.
• Passionate about coding – “Show me the code” mindset.
• Team‑oriented, eager to work in a dynamic, challenging environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with regular expressions and intelligent data merging.
• Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and open‑source AI tools such as OpenWebUI.
• Knowledge of agentic frameworks and containerisation technologies.
