Data Platform Solution Architect & Engineer

About the role

The Data Platform Solution Architect & Engineer will lead the design and implementation of DPG Media’s enterprise‑wide Data Mesh platform. Based in Antwerp (with work across Amsterdam and Vilvoorde), you will combine strategic architecture with hands‑on engineering to ensure a coherent, scalable and secure data environment that serves the whole DPG data community.

Key responsibilities

• Advise DPG Media on data platform technologies, their configuration and evolution, aligning them with the overall enterprise strategy.
• Monitor adoption of platform components across the organisation, guaranteeing they support the Data Mesh and comply with governance rules.
• Collaborate with the Data Area Manager and Data Domain Architect to set priorities and maintain architectural coherence.
• Translate long‑term architectural vision into concrete platform features, managing technical dependencies.
• Participate in the Enterprise Architecture Community of Practice to share knowledge and best practices.
• Act as a hands‑on expert to troubleshoot complex platform issues and continuously develop expertise in the core stack (AWS, CI/CD, Airflow, Snowflake, dbt, Spark).
• Bridge platform users and engineering teams, turning feedback into robust solutions and promoting engineering best practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in platform engineering and solution architecture for modern data platforms.
• Deep understanding of data‑mesh concepts, data modeling principles and enterprise data governance.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with product owners, engineers and architects.
