Data Analyst Intern – Cars Focus (Brussels)

About the role

Transport & Environment is seeking a Data Analyst Intern to support its EU Cars team in Brussels. The intern will join the Trends and Analysis unit, contributing to research, transport modelling and data analysis that shape European transport policy, particularly in the car sector.

Key responsibilities

• Lead analytical and research work on EU‑focused car topics.
• Prepare reports and policy briefings that translate data insights into actionable recommendations.
• Present research findings to internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Support analytical tasks across other programmes when capacity allows.
• Quality‑check analytical outputs, challenge input data and assumptions, and interpret model results.
• Provide input for policy and communication strategies.
• Model European car and charging projects and assist with broader road‑transport and electric‑vehicle market analyses.

Required profile

• Strong quantitative and analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize evidence from diverse sources.
• Interest in sustainable transport and EU policy development.
• Ability to work autonomously in a collaborative, learning‑focused environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python.
• Advanced Excel skills.
