Consultant – Customer‑Facing CISO (Brussels)

About the role

We are looking for a strategic consultant who acts as a customer‑facing CISO. Based in Brussels (twice a week), you will guide organisations through complex cyber‑threat landscapes, translating technical risks into board‑level language and aligning security with business strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement cyber‑security policies and long‑term roadmaps tailored to each client.
• Serve as a C‑level sparring partner, participating in board meetings and risk committees.
• Lead risk analyses across IT, OT and IoT environments and make findings understandable for management.
• Guide clients through regulatory requirements (e.g., NIS2, GDPR) and prepare them for audits and ISO certifications.
• Oversee incident response, coordinate crisis communication and advise on SOC and monitoring services.
• Raise security awareness, produce clear risk and maturity reports, and act as the central point of contact for all stakeholders.

Required profile

• Academic‑level knowledge with deep expertise in GRC and security frameworks.
• Strong understanding of legislation such as NIS2 and GDPR, and of IT Service Management (ITIL).
• Extensive experience with ICT architectures; knowledge of OT/ICS and IoT is a plus.
• Strategic thinker who can quickly grasp organisational structures and identify vulnerabilities.
• Excellent communicator able to address both board members and technical teams.
• Diplomatic, independent advisor who can handle resistance and push back when needed.
