Communications & Membership Officer

About the role

EARSC is seeking a Communications & Membership Officer to lead internal and external communications, support member engagement, and raise the visibility of Europe’s Earth Observation community. You will work across campaigns, events, digital platforms, and member relations in a dynamic international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage internal and external communication channels, including member portal, newsletters, website, social media, and event communications.
• Design and execute communication campaigns for EARSC activities, projects, and partner initiatives.
• Maintain digital tools and platforms, produce visual assets, and support policy and project communications.
• Organise online and in‑person events, handle logistics, webinar management, and promote events through visual and written materials.
• Oversee the full membership application process, onboarding, portal maintenance, and member service promotion.
• Respond to member inquiries and sustain engagement within the EARSC community.
• Provide communication support to the Secretary General and collaborate with Project Officers on project communications.

Required profile

• Excellent written and spoken English (C2 level).
• 1–3 years of communications experience in EU institutions, trade associations, industry, or the private sector.
• Proven ability to translate complex topics for diverse audiences.
• Strong organisational skills and experience supporting both online and in‑person events.

Required skills

• Canva, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Premiere Pro.
• WordPress and related web‑analytics tools.
• Mailchimp or HubSpot email‑marketing platforms.
• Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
