Category Buyer – Direct Procurement (Brussels)

About the role

Join Amaris in Brussels as a Category Buyer focused on direct procurement. You will act as a trusted partner to internal clients, launching tenders, optimizing contracts and ensuring compliance with public procurement legislation in a fast‑growing, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Launch tenders on the market in accordance with public procurement legislation, from start to finish.
• Analyse specifications, inventories and compare offers.
• Lead negotiations and make decisions considering Total Cost of Ownership.
• Maintain contacts with internal clients, technical departments and suppliers.
• Optimize existing contracts (conditions, content, addition of items) and manage extensions or additional expenses.
• Prepare and present files to competent decision‑making bodies.

Required profile

• Experience in operational or direct procurement, ideally within a public‑sector context.
• Proficiency in public procurement legislation and processes.
• Advanced negotiation and contract‑management skills.
• Experience with procurement tools and software.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement or a related field is a plus.
• Fluent in Dutch or French with good knowledge of the other language, and fluent in English.
• Strong integrity, result‑orientation and client focus.
• Team player able to work autonomously and communicate proactively.
