Biotechnology Research Technician – Cell Culture & 3D Models

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Biotechnology Research Technician to join our innovative spin‑off, 3D FibroScreen, at the ULB Erasme Campus in Brussels. The role focuses on developing and applying advanced 3D cell‑culture and screening platforms to model tissue fibrosis and evaluate anti‑fibrotic drug candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and advanced mammalian cell culture, including primary cell isolation and maintenance.
• Set up and operate complex 3D‑cell‑culture and organoid models.
• Conduct biochemical assays such as Western blotting and protein analysis.
• Acquire, analyse and interpret experimental data using GraphPad Prism and basic statistical tools.
• Document protocols and results in an electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) with rigorous scientific standards.
• Participate actively in team meetings and collaborative research discussions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Biotechnology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences or a related field.
• At least one year of professional experience in a similar laboratory role, preferably in biotech or pharma.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to work autonomously.
• Excellent written and oral communication in English.

Required skills

• Cell culture (mammalian, primary cells) and 3D/ organoid culture techniques.
• Western blot and protein analysis.
• Proficiency with GraphPad Prism and basic statistical analysis software.
• Use of electronic laboratory notebooks and Microsoft Office suite.
