Backend Software Engineer – Level I (Hybrid)

About the role

4G Clinical is seeking a Backend Software Engineer (Level I) to join its cloud‑based clinical‑trial platform team. The role is hybrid, allowing you to work both on‑site in Wellesley and remotely while developing robust Python/Django solutions for complex trial data workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python/Django applications supporting randomization, drug supply management, and forecasting.
• Create safe, efficient custom solutions for complex clinical‑trial data and workflow problems.
• Program and configure study‑specific reports and reusable data‑modification scripts.
• Integrate web services and external APIs in collaboration with clients and third‑party vendors.
• Participate in internal investigations, root‑cause analysis, and provide expert technical support to internal teams.
• Travel occasionally for training and team meetings.

Required profile

• Proven programming experience in Python or a comparable object‑oriented language.
• Professional technical support experience with strong communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Biotechnology, or a related field (or equivalent experience with at least 5 years in a related role).
• Familiarity with clinical‑trial product functionality (randomization, drug supply, forecasting, NLP) is a plus.
