Backend Software Engineer

About the role

Spott is a YC‑backed AI startup building an AI‑native recruitment platform. As a Backend Software Engineer you will help shape the core of this platform, working on scalable services that power recruiters worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Implement core product features and improve existing code to support rapid customer growth.
• Lead technical direction for major backend components, drive design discussions and conduct code reviews.
• Collaborate with product and AI teams to integrate AI‑driven functionalities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• At least 2 years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and ability to make pragmatic technical trade‑offs.
• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing architecture decisions.
• Familiarity with AI‑driven applications (prompt engineering or model fine‑tuning) is a plus.
