AWS DevOps Engineer (Mid‑Level) – Cloud Platform

About the role

We are seeking a passionate mid‑level AWS DevOps Engineer to join a large‑scale cloud platform initiative for the Belgian public sector. You will help manage, automate and operationalise mission‑critical workloads on a centralized hub‑and‑spoke AWS platform, supporting high‑impact digital services and government applications.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and optimise the central AWS platform and hosted workloads.
• Develop and scale Infrastructure as Code (IaC) environments.
• Automate CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and Azure DevOps Pipelines across multiple environments.
• Support application roll‑out and operationalisation within AWS landing zones.
• Configure and manage networking, DNS, logging, monitoring and security services.
• Monitor platform health, reliability and performance, implementing recovery and failover strategies.
• Onboard new workloads and integrations into the hub‑and‑spoke architecture.
• Collaborate with development teams, architects and platform engineers in an Agile/DevOps setting.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience with CI/CD automation tools (GitHub, Azure DevOps Pipelines).
• 3+ years of hands‑on Python development.
• 3+ years of experience with AWS or comparable cloud platforms.
• 3+ years of practical experience with Infrastructure as Code.
• Fluent Dutch communication skills (CEFR C2).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
