System Engineer – Infrastructure & Cloud Operations

About the role

As a System Engineer at Cream Consulting you will be responsible for advising, maintaining and operating the infrastructure that supports our clients in Banking, Insurance, Telecom, Energy and Transport. You will work within a 2nd/3rd level support team, handling incidents, changes and continuous improvement of both on‑premise and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage incidents, changes and troubleshooting following ITIL practices.
• Administer, operate and improve system infrastructure, including Azure cloud services and automation tools.
• Monitor performance, provide tuning advice and optimise storage and backup solutions.
• Create test environments, maintain documentation and support recovery plans.
• Contribute to long‑term projects aimed at consolidating and modernising the infrastructure.

Required profile

• At least a Bachelor degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a System Engineer.
• Strong autonomy combined with effective teamwork.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Fluent in French and English; Dutch is a plus.

Required skills

• Linux administration (CentOS, RedHat, Oracle Enterprise Linux).
• Configuration management and automation (Puppet, Git, Ansible, Zabbix).
• Windows Server (2008‑2019) and Active Directory.
• Cloud infrastructure (Microsoft Azure).
• Virtualisation (VMware).
