AWS AI Engineer (GenAI & Agents)

About the role

Devoteam, a digital transformation consulting firm with long-standing partnerships with AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft and ServiceNow, is looking for an AWS AI Engineer to join its AI engineering team in Machelen. You will design, build, test and deploy Generative AI solutions and autonomous AI agents on AWS, working alongside senior AI engineers and architects.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop production-grade Generative AI applications and AI agents using Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph or CrewAI.
• Help design and evaluate RAG pipelines, prompt templates and vector search integrations.
• Support the end-to-end ML lifecycle on AWS, including data preparation, model training, deployment and performance monitoring.
• Write basic Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK) and assist with CI/CD pipelines for AI workloads.
• Implement guardrails, data privacy and security controls following AWS best practices and regulations such as GDPR and the EU AI Act.
• Collaborate with data engineers, platform teams and clients, and explain technical architectures and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI/Data Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 2-3 years of professional experience in cloud software engineering (preferably AWS) and Python development.
• Fluent English and Dutch; French is a plus.
• Strong analytical mindset, initiative and ownership of project deliverables from concept to production.

Required skills

• Core GenAI concepts (LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, vector databases) and traditional machine learning.
• Foundational knowledge of AWS core services (S3, Lambda, IAM, API Gateway) and AWS AI services (Bedrock, SageMaker, Bedrock Agentcore).
• Nice to have: AWS certifications, experience with vector databases (OpenSearch, pgvector) or agent frameworks, and personal AI projects or open-source contributions.
