Aviation Claims Handler

About the role

AXIS Capital, a multinational insurer focused on aviation insurance, is looking for a passionate aviation claims handler for its Claims Department in Brussels. The role handles a variety of losses worldwide and contributes directly to AXIS's performance in claims, with a high quality of claims handling being central to its reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Handle hull and liability claims (damage to aircraft, personal injury, third-party damage)
• Assess general liability, passenger liability, corporate and product liability in connection with losses
• Ensure timely resolution of claims in coordination with involved parties
• Verify and analyse expert and legal reports
• Maintain, update and follow up on claims files
• Communicate developments and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders
• Initiate claims payments and ensure client and broker satisfaction

Required profile

• Strong interest in aviation and a desire to learn about the sector
• Dutch, English and French at CEFR level C
• Some existing experience in a non-life claims department, an insurance company or a brokerage firm is preferred
• A legal, insurance or job-relevant degree is preferred
• German and strong English are an asset
