Assistant/Associate Professor in Operations Management

About the role

The Faculty of Economics and Business at KU Leuven seeks a full‑time academic professional in Operations Management. The position is open to junior and senior researchers as well as final‑phase PhD candidates. Rank (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor) will be determined by qualifications and experience.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct high‑quality research, publish in top international journals, and secure external research funding.
• Develop and lead international research projects and supervise doctoral students.
• Teach Operations Management courses across KU Leuven campuses (Leuven, Antwerp, Brussels, Kortrijk) and supervise bachelor’s and master’s theses.
• Contribute to curriculum development and adopt research‑based, student‑centred teaching methods.
• Participate in departmental service, professional groups, and broader societal outreach.

Required profile

• PhD in Economics, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research or a closely related field, to be obtained before 1 July 2027.
• Demonstrated international research orientation with publications in leading journals.
• Ability to attract research funding and develop collaborative projects.
• Willingness to teach, supervise students and engage in departmental service.
