Assistant Director of Catering & Conference Services

About the role

The Assistant Director of Catering & Conference Services will support the leadership of catering sales and conference services at a luxury resort. You will manage the full lifecycle of group and event business, from prospecting to execution, driving multi‑million‑dollar revenue while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing annual sales budgets, goals, and business plans for the group sales and catering teams.
• Generate new business through prospecting, cold calls, referrals, and database maintenance.
• Conduct client tours, create menu presentations, negotiate contracts, and close deals.
• Coordinate sales efforts between hotel sales, catering, and private dining to maximize function‑space revenue.
• Maintain accurate banquet event orders, oversee weekly communication with operations, and ensure flawless event execution.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to conference services, catering, and banquet staff.
• Prepare and communicate monthly sales, revenue, and pacing results; attend weekly sales, revenue, and operations meetings.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in hotel/group sales, catering, or conference services.
• Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets and manage high‑performing teams.
• Strong client relationship management and negotiation skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
