AI Architect for European Institution (Brussels)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced AI Architect to join a European public institution in Brussels. The role will focus on evaluating and integrating AI‑assisted development tools, designing agentic chatbot capabilities, and delivering production‑grade AI services on‑premises.

Key responsibilities

• Assess AI‑assisted development tools (code generation, testing, documentation, debugging, refactoring) built on the Haystack framework and provide actionable recommendations.
• Present experiment results to technical leads and conduct knowledge‑transfer sessions.
• Design conversational‑agent capabilities, defining security, auditability and EU AI Act compliance guardrails.
• Document experiments and contribute to internal AI best‑practice guidelines.
• Monitor emerging tools in the agentic AI ecosystem.
• Architect, containerise and deploy AI services using Docker and Kubernetes on on‑premises infrastructure.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (Helm charts, Kubernetes manifests) and ensure reproducible, auditable deployments.
• Implement observability (logging, tracing, LLM metrics) and enforce DevSecOps security controls.
• Support transition of AI components from prototype to production, including release, rollback and operational procedures.

Required profile

• 10+ years of solution architecture and large‑scale system design experience, preferably within EU institutions.
• Strong background in data science, machine learning and generative AI.
• Proven ability to define high‑level architectural visions and adapt to evolving technologies.
