Wind Turbine Service Technician

About the role

Deutsche Windtechnik Belgium, an independent service provider supporting leading wind turbine technologies, is looking for a Wind Turbine Service Technician. You will maintain and repair wind turbines to ensure maximum availability and reliability, working on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and converter systems. The role is based near Ghent or Brussels, and candidates must live within about 40 km of Ghent or Brussels.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on wind turbines
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults
• Support inspections, troubleshooting and root cause analyses
• Complete service reports, work orders and maintenance documentation
• Report incidents and completed work according to HSE procedures
• Follow customer-specific procedures and site regulations, and work safely according to company and industry standards
• Collaborate with fellow technicians and support teams and take part in the on-call rotation, including weekends and public holidays

Required profile

• MBO Level 3/4 qualification in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent technical background
• At least 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in wind energy or a comparable technical environment
• Experience with low and high voltage installations
• BA4/BA5, NEN 3140 or NEN 3840 certification, or willingness to obtain them
• Good command of English and a valid Category B driving licence
• Physical ability to work at height and flexibility to travel between wind farms
• Only candidates with a valid work and residence permit for Belgium can be considered

What we offer

• Salary between EUR 3,500 and EUR 4,800 gross per month
• Belgian contract (PC 209 – employee status)
• 20 holidays plus 5 additional days and 12 ADV days
