Transport Planner – Inland Waterway Logistics

About the role

We are looking for a Transport Planner to join a leading cooperative chartering organisation in the European inland shipping sector. Based near Antwerp, you will play a key role in executing transport orders, allocating vessels and maintaining strong relationships with customers and member‑owners.

Key responsibilities

• Execute transport orders and chartering activities, ensuring timely scheduling and allocation.
• Optimize utilisation of affiliated members’ vessels and assign vessels to orders.
• Coordinate with the chartering desk and senior chartering agents on relevant matters.
• Prepare written quotations promptly and ensure compliance with quality‑management and GMP+ regulations.
• Contribute to acquiring new customers, retaining existing ones and preparing customer quotations.
• Maintain contact with members, handle questions and complaints, and ensure fair distribution of transport assignments.
• Participate in member‑related activities such as meetings and social events.
• Support a positive team environment, share knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Strong communication and administrative skills with an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Team player who enjoys variety and delivering excellent service.
• Fluent in Dutch (spoken and written) and proficient in French (spoken and written).
• Based near Antwerp, Belgium.
