Thesis Internship: Health Monitoring of Embedded Train Devices

About the role

Join Televic Rail as a thesis intern to investigate health monitoring for the embedded devices installed on trains, such as audio units, LED panels, and TFT displays. You will explore how on‑board sensors can be leveraged to assess device condition, predict failures, and extend operational lifetime.

Key responsibilities

• Survey and document the range of sensors and diagnostic data available on train devices (e.g., temperature, light, voltage, CPU load, memory usage, speaker impedance).
• Design a method to collect this information from all devices across a train network.
• Gather data from a representative set of devices, including those that have failed, and define metrics for health prediction.
• Evaluate whether health‑check algorithms can run directly on the devices.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a Bachelor or Master program in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical Engineering).
• Interest in AI, machine learning, and embedded systems.
• Ability to work independently on research, implementation, and experimentation tasks.
