Technical Writer – Tubize, Belgium

About the role

Thales is looking for a Technical Writer to join its Tubize site, supporting the development of RF products, C4ISR, cryptographic solutions and aeronautical intercom systems. You will work closely with design, testing and certification engineers to produce clear, structured documentation that meets Thales standards.

Key responsibilities

• Understand project and product development stages and draft appropriate documentation such as Statements of Work.
• Collaborate with electrical, electronics, mechanical, test and certification teams to prepare documentation in the specified Thales format.
• Analyse customer requests and deliver detailed responses with references.
• Produce and maintain technical documents including High‑Level Design, Low‑Level Design, User Manuals and Test Plans.
• Assist in writing test procedures together with test and qualification engineers.
• Improve existing documents in coordination with team members.
• Contribute to technical offers and research project submissions based on team input.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in electronics, telecommunications or a related field.
• Prior experience writing an academic thesis in English.
• At least 2 years of proven technical writing experience in an engineering environment.
• Fluent in both French and English.

Required skills

• Technical writing and documentation preparation.
• Creation of Statements of Work, design specifications, user manuals and test plans.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
