Team Leader – Life Insurance

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to manage and inspire our Underwriting & Policy Servicing team of eight professionals. You will be responsible for driving performance, ensuring high‑quality service, and fostering a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Guide and support the team in daily tasks, providing coaching and training as needed.
• Prioritise weekly workload and allocate resources efficiently.
• Identify and implement improvements in service quality, including mail, telephone, and complaints handling.
• Adopt a customer‑focused mindset, aligning services with client and broker expectations.
• Translate departmental objectives into clear, measurable goals.
• Conduct regular one‑to‑one meetings, performance evaluations, and development plans.
• Lead project and information meetings, and collaborate with the Life Retail Manager on strategy.
• Manage the allocated budget and analyse customer complaints to propose solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in insurance, economics or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the life insurance industry with deep operational knowledge.
• Strong leadership style that builds trust and drives results.
• Fluent in Dutch and French (or vice‑versa).
• Meticulous, organised, and able to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of lean management principles.
