Systems Administrator

About the role

The World Customs Organization is seeking a Systems Administrator to manage and maintain its IT infrastructure. You will support over 200 staff members, ensuring reliable operation of networks, servers, storage, and related services while adhering to WCO cyber‑security best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, maintain and monitor IT infrastructure (network, servers, storage, UPS, laptops, etc.).
• Daily management of Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems, application/web servers and databases.
• Troubleshoot network, software and printing issues.
• Implement physical and virtual networks and servers.
• Create, update and follow up documentation, including business continuity and disaster‑recovery procedures.
• Develop and maintain backup and restore strategies; manage on‑site and off‑site backups.
• Analyse current infrastructure and provide improvement recommendations.
• Support Microsoft 365, Hybrid Active Directory, Exchange Online, SharePoint, MS Teams and related services.
• Handle ticket queues, communicate service status and work with vendors to resolve technical problems.
• Maintain hardware inventory and standards in collaboration with the IT Service Officer.

Required profile

• Proven experience administering Windows and Linux servers.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts and server virtualization.
• Experience with backup solutions and disaster‑recovery planning.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 ecosystem and hybrid Active Directory environments.
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation and follow established procedures.
