Sociology QA Lead – Remote

About the role

This remote, hourly contract position leads quality assurance for sociology‑focused AI training projects. You will ensure that training data is accurate, nuanced, ethically sound, and aligned with client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee quality, consistency, and trainer performance across sociology AI training projects.
• Review AI‑generated sociology content and trainer/QA work against detailed project rubrics.
• Provide precise written feedback and ensure contributors follow established quality standards.
• Assess content for sociological accuracy, theory application, methodological rigor, ethical awareness, bias sensitivity, clarity, and formatting.
• Identify recurring quality issues, communicate updates to trainers and QAs, and support onboarding of new contributors.
• Maintain documentation and help reactivate contributors who are not working consistently.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Sociology, Social Sciences, Anthropology, Demography, Criminology, Gender Studies, Public Policy or a closely related field.
• Strong command of English for written feedback and communication.
• 3+ years of experience in sociology research, teaching, policy analysis, qualitative/quantitative research, academic writing or related workflows.
• Deep understanding of sociological theory, social institutions, inequality, race/ethnicity, gender, class, culture, deviance, organizations, social change, demography and research methods.
• Ability to evaluate content against detailed rubrics and spot unsupported generalizations, methodological flaws, biased framing, or inaccurate concepts.
