Site Superintendent – Roads (Farciennes)

About the role

The Site Superintendent will lead the day‑to‑day supervision of road construction activities at the Farciennes site. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will ensure that all works are carried out safely, on schedule and in line with the approved specifications and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily site activities covering earthworks, utilities, drainage, road foundations, pavements and finishing works.
• Ensure execution complies with approved plans, technical specifications, contractual requirements and applicable regulations.
• Monitor and manage subcontractors and suppliers to guarantee smooth progress and resource availability.
• Organise site operations, allocate labour, materials and equipment, and track productivity against project targets.
• Identify potential delays, risks or technical issues and propose corrective actions.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify workmanship quality and enforce quality‑control procedures.
• Review drawings and technical documents, providing feedback on buildability and execution methods.
• Maintain accurate daily reports on progress, manpower, equipment and any non‑conformities.
• Participate in site meetings and provide progress updates to the Project Manager.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising road construction sites and managing subcontractors.
• Strong understanding of civil‑engineering specifications, safety regulations and quality‑control processes.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents.
• Effective coordination with project managers, engineers, surveyors and utility companies.

Required skills

• Knowledge of road construction methods and materials.
• Familiarity with quality‑control procedures and safety standards for infrastructure projects.
• Competence in organising site resources and monitoring progress.
