Senior Strategic Communications Associate – Built Environment (Brussels & France)

About the role

This senior position sits within the Global Strategic Communications Council (GSCC) and is based in Brussels. You will lead the design and delivery of communications interventions that shift public, political and market narratives on building decarbonisation across the EU and in France.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain an up‑to‑date overview of EU and French policies affecting the built environment and ensure communications are technically grounded.
• Monitor high‑level political and media debates in the EU and France to identify emerging trends.
• Map and engage a network of partners—from Brussels advocacy groups to French industry networks—to amplify collective impact.
• Identify and develop spokespersons who can convincingly discuss built‑environment issues in both French and EU contexts.
• Lead the production of audience‑specific, multi‑channel communications that operationalise strategic narratives.
• Build and sustain trusted relationships with key French journalists and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Sharp strategist with deep understanding of EU institutions and the Brussels‑national capital dynamic.
• Experience working on built‑environment or climate‑related policy and communications.
• Proven ability to own projects from strategy development through delivery with significant autonomy.
• Strong network‑building skills across European markets, especially France, Germany, Poland and Spain.
• Evidence‑based approach and political relevance in communications.
