Senior Software Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Workforce Solutions team in Brussels. You will work on the Integration Layer that connects Proximus applications with field‑technician tools, delivering robust, high‑performance backend solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with analysts to translate complex business and IT requirements into detailed technical designs.
• Lead assigned projects, coordinate sub‑teams, and ensure timely, high‑quality delivery.
• Guide testers and enforce Continuous Integration and Delivery practices.
• Oversee implementation phases, manage releases, and follow Proximus change & release management procedures.
• Provide rapid engineering support to operations during critical incidents.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an IT‑related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong background in continuous integration, automated testing, functional programming, and Agile (Scrum) methodologies.

Required skills

• Backend development with Java.
• Version control using Git (branching and merging strategies).
• Experience with Apache Camel and Spring Framework.
• Knowledge of software quality metrics.
• Familiarity with container platforms such as OpenShift (preferred).
• Proficiency in Agile Scrum and CI/CD pipelines.
