Senior Python Back-End Engineer – Conversational AI & Generative AI

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Python Back‑End Engineer to design and deliver scalable backend services for conversational AI and generative AI solutions within a leading European banking institution. The role blends backend development, cloud integration, and AI innovation in a secure AWS environment.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into technical AI and backend solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain Python‑based services and REST APIs.
• Build and deploy Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) and generative AI applications using AWS Bedrock and large language models.
• Integrate AWS services such as S3, analytics, and integration tools.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and follow DevOps best practices.
• Perform testing, code reviews, debugging, and provide production support.
• Collaborate with data scientists, architects, and cloud teams to ensure seamless system integration.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in Python backend development.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services, especially Bedrock and S3.
• Hands‑on experience with large language models (e.g., Claude) and RAG architectures.
• Proven ability to design REST APIs and integrate complex systems.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud‑native deployment.
• Fluent English; Dutch is a plus.
