Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Automation & Machine Building

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established engineering company in Hasselt. The role focuses on creating custom automated production and test equipment for international clients, guiding projects from concept to installation.

Key responsibilities

• Design custom automation machines and production equipment.
• Translate customer requirements into mechanical concepts and detailed designs.
• Develop assemblies and machine modules using Creo.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing, assembly, and commissioning teams.
• Follow projects through concept, build, and on‑site installation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanics, or a related field.
• Experience in machine building, special‑purpose machinery, industrial automation, or production equipment.
• Strong attention to manufacturability and cost‑effective design.
• Good English communication skills; Dutch is preferred.

Required skills

• Creo (or Pro Engineer) for 3D CAD modeling.
• Pro Engineer.
