Senior Manager – Legal & Compliance for Portugal, MISSA & South Africa

About the role

Johnson & Johnson’s DePuy Synthes division is seeking a Senior Manager to lead Legal & Compliance activities across Portugal, the MISSA region and South Africa. Based in Prague (or Belgium), you will partner with business leaders to ensure operations meet legal and regulatory standards while supporting commercial growth.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal support for distributor and indirect market operations, advising on structuring, appointment, management and termination of distributor relationships.
• Draft, review and negotiate complex commercial agreements covering distribution, agency, channel partner, sales, supply, marketing and service arrangements.
• Enable business expansion in distributor markets by managing legal risk in new channel models and delivering scalable legal solutions.
• Manage disputes and performance issues with distributors, including escalation, enforcement of contractual rights and coordination with external counsel.
• Advise business leaders on compliance with applicable laws, regulations and internal policies across the assigned markets.
• Oversee legal risk assessments, mitigation strategies and compliance initiatives.
• Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders and liaise with external counsel and regulatory bodies.

Required profile

• Senior legal professional with experience supporting commercial operations in multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong understanding of distributor and channel partner agreements.
• Proven ability to balance compliance requirements with commercial objectives.
