Senior Legal Counsel – Energy Projects

About the role

BESIX Power, the renewable energy arm of BESIX Group, is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to support its fast‑growing portfolio of solar, battery and other clean‑energy projects. Based in Belgium, you will work closely with project teams and corporate functions to ensure robust legal frameworks for development, financing, construction and operation of projects worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate and review a wide range of contracts, including confidentiality agreements, LOIs, MoUs, term sheets, joint‑venture agreements, EPC, O&M, procurement, PPAs, land and financing documents.
• Lead legal due diligence for project and company acquisitions, supporting M&A, project finance, acquisition finance and structured tax‑equity transactions.
• Prepare legal documentation for tender responses and manage post‑award legal matters.
• Assist in establishing and negotiating all forms of partnerships and joint‑venture structures.
• Provide ongoing legal advice to internal stakeholders on regulatory, ESG and compliance issues related to renewable energy projects.

Required profile

• Law degree with admission to the bar in Belgium or a relevant EU jurisdiction.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in energy, infrastructure or project finance law, preferably within renewable‑energy projects.
• Proven track record of handling complex, cross‑border contracts and financing structures.
• Fluent in English; French or Dutch is a plus.
