Senior Legal Counsel – Asset Management

About the role

Degroof Petercam is strengthening its Asset Management team and seeks a Senior Legal Counsel to support the Head of Legal, supervise junior colleagues and ensure regulatory compliance across its European activities.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Head of Legal in steering the legal department and supervising junior colleagues.
• Implement regulatory projects related to ESG, MiFID, UCITS, AIFM, RIS, DORA, outsourcing and marketing rules.
• Review and negotiate contracts with fund service providers and institutional clients.
• Maintain relationships with the FSMA and represent the company at BEAMA.
• Monitor regulatory and legislative developments affecting asset management and ensure compliance measures are applied.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Law (Belgian) with at least 6 years of experience in asset management or banking & finance legal roles.
• Fluent in French and English, with at least passive knowledge of Dutch.
• Proven ability to work autonomously, lead a small team and translate complex legal principles into practical business solutions.
• Strong analytical mindset, business acumen and solution‑oriented approach.
