Senior Legal & Contract Manager

About the role

Thales Belgium is seeking a Senior Legal & Contract Manager to join its Legal, Contract & Compliance department at the Herstal site. The role provides expert legal support, manages the full contract lifecycle, and ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies across defence, aerospace and security markets.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, amend and negotiate commercial contracts such as procurement, supplier, service agreements, letters of intent, MOUs and NDAs.
• Manage complex supply‑chain contracts upstream and downstream, minimizing contractual, commercial and technical risks.
• Support bid teams on tenders, providing legal assistance during offer preparation.
• Advise internal stakeholders on legal risks and business decisions.
• Monitor contract performance, milestones and renewals in close cooperation with project managers.
• Assist the Legal & Contracts Director with anti‑corruption, GDPR and competition‑law compliance matters.
• Deliver training on compliance, legal and ethical standards to staff.

Required profile

• Belgian‑law trained lawyer.
• 10 to 15 years of experience in international contract law and commercial negotiations.
• Proven ability to understand technical and commercial aspects of contracts.
