Senior External Communications Expert

About the role

Allianz Benelux is looking for a Senior External Communications Expert to shape its external narrative, manage high‑profile partnerships and position the brand as a trusted voice in the financial services market across Belgium and the Netherlands.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an integrated external communications plan aligned with business strategy.
• Identify PR opportunities with senior management, marketing and value‑proposition teams and create compelling content.
• Manage media relations, build relationships with Belgian and Dutch journalists, and coach spokespeople for media interactions.
• Represent Allianz Benelux at external events, oversee sponsorship activations such as the Memorial Van Damme, and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Lead issue and crisis communications to protect the company’s reputation.
• Define and implement the corporate social and digital media strategy to amplify external presence.
• Measure communications impact through media coverage, share of voice and sentiment analysis.

Required profile

• University degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or a related field.
• 8‑10+ years of experience in external communications, PR or corporate affairs, preferably within financial services.
• Proven track record advising senior leadership and managing crisis communications.
• Established network of contacts in Belgian and/or Dutch business and financial media.
• Fluency in French, Dutch and English (written and spoken).
