Senior Accountant – Real Estate Group (Brussels)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join the finance team of a leading Belgian real‑estate and investment group. Based in Brussels, you will own the full accounting cycle for multiple entities, support month‑end and year‑end closings, and act as a senior point of reference within the department.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the complete A‑Z accounting cycle for several group entities.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial closings.
• Ensure compliance with Belgian accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Prepare VAT declarations and assist with corporate tax matters.
• Coordinate with external auditors and accounting partners.
• Review and monitor journal entries, reconciliations and intercompany transactions.
• Participate in the implementation and optimisation of accounting processes and ERP systems.
• Provide senior support and guidance to the accounting team.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in full‑cycle accounting, preferably in a fiduciary firm or in‑house finance function.
• Experience handling multiple entities and exposure to tax and closing activities.
• Fluent French and professional English (minimum B2); Dutch is a plus.
• Autonomous, proactive, solution‑oriented and comfortable challenging existing processes.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Belgian GAAP.
• Good understanding of VAT and corporate tax principles.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with modern ERP environments and accounting system optimisation.
• Intercompany accounting expertise.
