Risk Expert – Legal & Contract Specialist

About the role

Deloitte is seeking a hands‑on lawyer to join its Quality and Risk Management (QRM) team in Belgium. The role focuses on complex risk and contracting matters, providing practical advice across a dynamic, cross‑border environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review, draft and negotiate a variety of contracts, including subcontracting, alliance agreements, statements of work, master service agreements, SaaS contracts and public tenders.
• Collaborate daily with practitioners on business risks, proposal reviews, contract templates, GDPR compliance and other risk‑management topics.
• Provide pragmatic, hands‑on advice and coach junior team members.
• Monitor legal and technological developments such as GDPR, SaaS, Cloud, GenAI, DORA and NIS2.
• Assist in designing and delivering QRM training programmes, including contract bootcamps and GDPR workshops.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Law with 3‑5 years of legal and contract counseling, drafting and negotiation experience in a fast‑paced environment.
• Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written) with the ability to draft and negotiate contracts in both languages; French is a plus.
• Strong critical‑thinking, proactive problem‑solving and autonomous work style.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Legal drafting and negotiation of contracts (subcontracting, alliance, SOW, MSA, SaaS, public tenders).
• Knowledge of GDPR, SaaS, Cloud, GenAI, DORA and NIS2 regulations.
• Ability to provide risk‑focused legal advice and coach junior colleagues.
• Experience delivering training and workshops.
