Project Officer – Training & Skills Development

About the role

The Training and Competence Development Service of the Université libre de Bruxelles is seeking a Project Officer for a one‑year fixed‑term contract. The role supports the European CROSS project, funded by Horizon Europe, which aims to strengthen transversal skills and employability of researchers across Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and develop transversal training programmes, including mapping, evaluation and data‑driven gap analysis.
• Recruit and support 5‑8 European research institutions to pilot an AI‑based diagnostic tool, aggregating and cleaning pilot data.
• Participate in the design, adaptation and deployment of digital tools such as self‑assessment platforms, learning dashboards and data‑analysis pipelines.
• Design and pilot an inter‑sectoral mentoring programme, recruit mentors from the Brussels ecosystem and manage the full mentoring cycle.
• Establish and maintain a network of European university alliances and partner organisations.
• Plan and organise at least two inter‑sectoral events (career days, skills fairs) in Brussels and promote project deliverables.

Required profile

• Experience managing EU‑funded or research‑related projects.
• Background in training, competence development or human‑resources initiatives.
• Strong analytical abilities to process and interpret quantitative and qualitative data.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder coordination across multiple institutions.
• Familiarity with the European research landscape and Horizon Europe programmes.
