Project Assistant – Labour Mobility & Social Inclusion

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Project Assistant to support the Labour Mobility and Social Inclusion (LMI) unit in its Country Office for Belgium and Luxembourg. Working under the direct supervision of the Project Manager and the Head of Unit, the incumbent will contribute to the implementation and development of migration‑related projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Project Management Teams with implementation and follow‑up of project activities, including research, administrative support, and logistical organization of meetings and events.
• Draft, format, and circulate meeting reports, minutes, correspondence, letters, and IOM documents.
• Support the development of new initiatives by preparing concept notes, project proposals, and public information materials.
• Prepare website articles, press releases, and other dissemination products related to IOM activities.
• Identify potential partnerships with private sector, NGOs, diaspora groups, government bodies, and academic institutions to enhance knowledge on migration policies.
• Create presentations and other outreach materials as required.

Required profile

• Open to internal and internal‑equivalent candidates.
• Ability to work under the supervision of the Project Manager, Head of Unit, and Chief of Mission.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
