Production Team Leader – Chocolate Manufacturing

About the role

As a Production Team Leader at Manufacture Belge de Chocolats (MBC) in Brussels, you will oversee the safe, efficient and continuous operation of the chocolate production area. You will lead shop‑floor teams, coordinate daily production activities and ensure compliance with quality, safety and GMP standards.

Key responsibilities

• Drive shift performance, achieving production targets while monitoring safety, quality, hygiene and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee chocolate manufacturing processes and apply technical knowledge specific to the sector.
• Manage inventory procedures using the ERP system to maintain accurate stock levels.
• Contribute to KPIs related to productivity, capacity, quality, safety, cost control and production planning.
• Organise production activities, support schedule execution and ensure effective shift handovers.
• Conduct regular team meetings, provide feedback, address performance issues and recognise achievements.
• Train, coach and support line leaders and operators to develop skills and maintain operational flexibility.
• Communicate incidents, participate in corrective actions and collaborate with Maintenance, Quality and R&D departments.

Required profile

• Background in Industrial Sciences, Food Sciences or equivalent experience in a production environment, preferably food or pharmaceutical.
• Proven experience leading teams in a manufacturing setting.
• Fluent French with the ability to communicate in Dutch; English is a plus.
• Willingness to work a rotating shift system (morning and afternoon).
• Good knowledge of MS Office and production tools.
