Product Engineer – Hard Goods

About the role

Bambaw is looking for a Product Engineer to lead the technical development of its hard‑goods portfolio. You will own the product lifecycle from concept and feasibility studies through prototyping, compliance validation, and launch of production‑ready items.

Key responsibilities

• Drive end‑to‑end development of assigned hard‑goods, including market research, competitor benchmarking, risk assessment, material evaluation and design for manufacturing.
• Define product specifications, functional test plans and ensure compliance with REACH, CE, LFGB and mechanical safety standards.
• Approve pre‑production samples, create inspection checklists and quality‑control standards.
• Conduct post‑launch reviews, analyse returns and defects, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain a Technical Development Wiki covering testing methods, material guidelines, supplier requirements and DFM rules.
• Provide technical support to sourcing, supply‑chain, marketplace and brand teams to ensure smooth product launches.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of product development engineering experience for consumer physical products.
• Hands‑on expertise in prototyping, material selection, design for manufacturing and iterative work with suppliers.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to diagnose failures and drive systematic corrective actions.
• Fluent English (working language).

Required skills

• SolidWorks or Rhino CAD tools.
• Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
• Material selection and prototyping techniques.
• Supplier iteration and coordination, preferably with Asian factories.
• Knowledge of REACH, CE, LFGB and mechanical safety compliance.
