Procurement Team Manager – Industrial Site (Brussels/Charleroi)

About the role

You will lead a local procurement team of three senior buyers at an industrial production site in the Brussels‑Charleroi area. Reporting to a line manager focused on group‑level strategy, you will have full autonomy over day‑to‑day operations and will be the driving force behind a period of organisational change.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, support and develop a team of senior buyers, fostering cohesion and a continuous‑improvement mindset.
• Create conditions for smooth adoption of new ways of working while maintaining operational continuity.
• Coordinate group procurement guidelines with site needs, ensuring alignment with internal stakeholders.
• Drive procurement performance through budget monitoring, SLA tracking and supplier‑risk management.
• Manage critical suppliers, conduct audits and follow‑up on corrective actions.
• Lead complex contractual negotiations to optimise cost, quality and delivery.
• Optimize procurement tools and processes (SAP, catalogues, contract management) and ensure compliance with HSE, ethical and internal policies.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business or Management.
• Solid experience in industrial procurement with a proven ability to lead senior professionals.
• Credibility earned through substance rather than hierarchy.
• Comfort operating within a defined strategic framework and translating it into local execution.
• Fluent French and strong professional English (C1/B2).

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP.
• Strong knowledge of contract management fundamentals.
