Privacy Legal Counsel

About the role

Mistral AI is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to lead its GDPR compliance efforts. The role partners closely with product and engineering teams, drafting documentation and advising on privacy matters across the company’s AI solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Support Mistral AI’s GDPR compliance strategy and manage related documentation such as processing records, DPIAs, and internal policies.
• Answer and manage data subject requests and implement GDPR processes and automation.
• Negotiate data processing agreements with providers and customers.
• Monitor privacy regulations, supervisory authority guidance, and advise product and other teams on privacy implications of new features.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in law; bar admission is a plus.
• 5–10 years of experience in a law firm or tech company focusing on IT and privacy law, especially GDPR compliance.
• Strong knowledge of European privacy regulations, supervisory authority guidance, and the European Data Protection Board.
• Understanding of artificial‑intelligence technologies and their applications.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and project‑management skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑moving environment.
