Policy Officer – Economic & Consumer Advocacy

About the role

Euroconsumers is seeking a Policy Officer with a strong economic background to support its advocacy, enforcement and communication activities across Europe and beyond. Reporting to the Head of Advocacy, you will analyse policy dossiers, develop strategic positions and help build influential networks.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor European and international developments to identify opportunities for Euroconsumers to shape consumer policy.
• Analyse consumer policy issues from both economic and political perspectives.
• Develop and maintain relationships with policy makers, businesses and civil‑society organisations, creating coalitions where appropriate.
• Collaborate with communication and enforcement teams to promote Euroconsumers’ positions across multiple channels.
• Work with B2B teams to design impactful partnerships with market players.
• Support the planning and execution of events, representation activities and stakeholder meetings.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Economics, Business or a related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in European or international policy and advocacy.
• Ability to assess consumer policy issues with a focus on economic analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; French and Dutch are a plus.
• Strong analytical, organisational and networking abilities.
• Business‑oriented, solution‑focused and comfortable working in a team.
