Part-Time Instructor – Human Resource Management

About the role

The Division of Continuing Education at the University of California seeks qualified part‑time instructors to teach online courses in Human Resource Management. This contract position is course‑by‑course and focuses on delivering high‑quality, interactive learning experiences to a diverse student body.

Key responsibilities

• Develop or update course syllabi in collaboration with the Business Programs Director using the approved template.
• Prepare and deliver online lectures, readings, and assessments through the Canvas Learning Management System.
• Communicate clear learning objectives, grading policies, and feedback to students.
• Evaluate student performance, assign grades, and post final grades to the transcript system on schedule.
• Respond promptly to student inquiries and provide academic support.
• Complete required administrative tasks, including hiring paperwork, quarterly syllabus updates, and contract signing.

Required profile

• Current knowledge and/or teaching experience in core HR topics such as talent acquisition, compensation, employment law, and organizational change.
• Ability to employ culturally competent teaching methods for both domestic and international learners.
• Commitment to staying current with professional HR knowledge and completing mandatory training.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Canvas Learning Management System.
