Online Writer & Community Manager for EU Alumni Network

About the role

As an Online Writer and Community Manager you will shape communication for the EU Alumni network, creating compelling content and fostering active engagement among alumni and EU staff. You will work closely with stakeholders to highlight stories, promote the network, and support the broader mission of responsible digitalisation.

Key responsibilities

• Moderate LinkedIn groups, approve membership requests and enforce community guidelines.
• Develop, write and curate articles, posts, multimedia and newsletter material tailored to alumni interests.
• Plan and maintain a structured content calendar aligned with EU priorities and network activities.
• Interview alumni and stakeholders, edit submissions and produce magazine editions.
• Prepare, edit and distribute newsletters via EC Newsroom, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Apply social‑media best practices to expand reach, increase engagement and strengthen the EU Alumni brand.
• Track growth, engagement and impact metrics for LinkedIn and newsletters, delivering periodic reports and insights.
• Promote the network to attract new members and engage EU staff across headquarters and delegations.

Required profile

• Degree in communication, journalism, digital media, political science, public policy or a related field.
• Excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills in English; additional EU languages are a plus.
• Proven experience in social‑media management and community engagement, preferably on LinkedIn.
• Experience in editorial planning, content creation and newsletter production.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage multicultural audiences.
• Analytical mindset with experience monitoring and reporting performance metrics.
• Interest in EU affairs, international cooperation or alumni networks.
