Offshore Construction Manager

About the role

The Offshore Construction Manager will lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver large‑scale energy infrastructure on an offshore island. Reporting to the Island Works Manager, the role combines office work in Belgium with rotational on‑site assignments, ensuring safe, high‑quality execution of civil and marine construction activities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate client representatives and project engineers, acting as the single point of contact for daily construction activities.
• Oversee health, safety and environmental compliance of the EPC contractor using a risk‑based approach.
• Manage quality control activities in partnership with the on‑shore project team.
• Monitor project progress, prepare regular reports and support staffing, onboarding and integration of client personnel.
• Review method statements, risk analyses and operational procedures, identifying risks and opportunities and developing mitigation plans.
• Collaborate closely with offshore project engineers and specialists in marine, civil, quality, HSE, project and contract management.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience, primarily in civil construction projects.
• Proven experience in the offshore sector is an advantage.
• Engineering degree, preferably civil engineering.
• Fluent English; knowledge of Dutch and/or French is a plus.
• Relevant certifications such as offshore medical certification, BOSIET and boat landing training.

• Understanding of electrical, instrumentation, telecommunications and mechanical systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Familiarity with ACONEX (advantage)
