Officer, Security Architecture and Cyber Capabilities

About the role

The Cyber and Digital Transformation Division seeks an Officer to lead Capability Architecture activities within the Cyber Plans and Capabilities Section. You will support the Section Head in embedding security‑by‑design into Capability and Solution Architectures and stay abreast of emerging cybersecurity developments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and maintenance of cyber capability architectures, including CIS‑Security and cryptography.
• Provide security architecture support for assessments of Capability Programmes and Plans for Cyber Defence.
• Prepare background briefs, progress reports, and presentations for senior meetings.
• Conduct architecture and interoperability assessments for standalone cyber projects and urgent requirements.
• Monitor project plans, identify implementation risks, and ensure alignment with NATO governance.

Required profile

• University degree in computer science, cybersecurity or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in IT, application, technology and system architecture, with substantial security‑architecture project work.
• Ability to explain complex technical issues to non‑technical audiences.
• Advanced proficiency (V) in English or French and beginner (I) level in the other official NATO language.
