Medical Science Liaison – Rheumatology

About the role

AbbVie is seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) specialized in Rheumatology to strengthen scientific engagement across Belgium. In this field‑based position you will act as a trusted scientific partner for healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders and other stakeholders, supporting the safe and effective use of AbbVie’s rheumatology portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Provide scientific and technical leadership to build credible relationships with thought leaders and external experts.
• Assist in the initiation, oversight and follow‑up of clinical studies and medical projects, including post‑marketing registries, epidemiological surveys and Phase IV studies.
• Serve as the primary contact for external experts, addressing their scientific queries and facilitating access to AbbVie medicines through early‑access programs when appropriate.
• Deliver accurate scientific presentations to physicians individually or in group settings.
• Support the preparation of scientific publications and provide expertise to internal medical, clinical, sales and marketing teams.

Required profile

• Strong scientific background in rheumatology or a related therapeutic area.
• Experience in medical affairs or clinical research with a focus on post‑marketing activities.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders.
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements governing medical interactions.
• Willingness to travel within Belgium to meet external experts.

Required skills
